Webquest
A web quest is an assignment which asks students to use the World Wide Web to learn about and/or synthesize their knowledge a specific topic. I will use web quests mostly when I am planning a lesson or doing a activity. It makes the activities more enjoyable for the students. Some positives of using web quests are you search your information on the web so you can find facts very quickly and it allows you to work in groups and talk to each other about there findings. But the cons of web quests are students just copy the information down from the Internet and rely way to much on it. Also since they are coping down the information from the Internet some of the resources could be unreliable.

Webquests are best used when you want to expand your students' use of higher-order thinking skills rather than just have another activity where they work at the knowledge level.
ReplyDeleteA well-written webquest requires the students to work with the information they find on the web. The process does not stop with just finding the facts.
As the author of the webquest the teacher can be sure to provide quality web sites as resources so the students do not work with unreliable information.
